The 2015 Academy of Country Music Awards

The 2015 ACMs aired on Sunday, April 19th, and featured performances by a number of artists including The Band Perry, Jason Aldean, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Miranda Lambert, Keith Urban, Hunter Hayes, Trisha Yearwood, Nick Jonas, and Garth Brooks. This year was the show’s 50th anniversary and was held at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. It set the record for the largest award show ever held with over 70,000 people attending. The top award winners were Miranda Lambert, who took home 5 awards, along with Florida Georgia Line, Lee Brice, and Luke Bryan who all received 2 awards. Taylor Swift was also honored and given the Milestone Award presented by her mother who was just diagnosed with breast cancer. Taylor accepted the award saying, “I'm so happy I learned to write songs in a town like Nashville… I'm so glad I learned what hard work is from my heroes who are sitting here.”
