McKinley To Become Denali

After 119 years, Mount McKinley is getting a new name. The White House announced on August 30th that the mountain’s name would be officially changed from McKinley to Denali. The mountain, which is the tallest peak in North America, has been called Mount Denali by Alaskan natives for years. Alaskans have petitioned to change the mountain’s name since 1975 but have never been successful until now.
