In March of this year, it was revealed that Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton used a private email while serving as Secretary of State under the Obama Administration. Since the discovery, thousands of emails have been handed over and the FBI has launched an investigation into Clinton’s private email to learn more information. Since the investigation has begun, there have been several surprising developments. First, in addition to a private email, Clinton also used a private server which was found in her New York home. Second, it was revealed that Clinton had time to delete emails off of her server before she handed them over. Third, 87 threads of emails found on Clinton’s private server were described as containing “foreign government information” which, according to Fox News, makes the emails automatically classified as soon as they were sent. Finally, Clinton originally denied any wrongdoing saying, “what I did was allowed,” but has now officially apologized for her use of a personal email saying, “That was a mistake… I’m sorry about that. I take responsibility.” As the investigation is still ongoing, it remains to be seen what, if anything else, will be found on Clinton’s private email and if this controversy will cost her the Democratic nomination.
