Carolina Shark Attacks

Two shark attacks took place off the coast of North Carolina recently. A 12-year-old girl from North Carolina lost part of her arm and was left with a leg injury while a 16-year-old boy from Colorado lost all of his left arm. Both were playing in the ocean in waist-deep water when they were attacked. Although the incidents took place separately about 2 miles apart, both attacks happened on the same day and took place just within an hour of one another. Both the girl and the boy were pulled out of the water and rushed to the New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, North Carolina, where they received treatment. Both received amputations and are reported to be doing well. Their names have not been released.
