Anthrax Scare

  • May 28, 2015

On May 27th, U.S. officials revealed that live samples of anthrax had been mistakenly mailed to laboratories in nine different states (Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, California, Wisconsin, New York, New Jersey, Maryland, and Delaware) as well as Osan Air base in South Korea. The samples, thought to be inactive, were shipped from an Army facility in Utah. While the Pentagon has said that there is “no known risk to the general public,” four people in the United Stated along with twenty-two people in South Korea have taken preventative measures against the disease although none have shown signs of the disease. The CDC has also launched an investigation to learn more about the incident.
