With the success of Disney’s latest movie Frozen, many are wondering what is next for the company and their long line of family-friendly films. Well, it seems that their next big production is called Moana and is scheduled to be released in 2018. Moana is said to be about a Polynesian girl living on a South Pacific island roughly 2000 years ago. The directors of the movie are John Musker and Ron Clements, who also directed Disney’s The Princess and the Frog. The film will star Moana Waialiki, the daughter of a tribal chief, who sets off on an adventure in order to help her family. There are also several rumors about the movie. It was rumored that Disney may have been changed the title to Spirited in order to continue with their adjective theme (Tangled, Brave, & Frozen) and that the movie’s release date may actually be in 2017. But neither date has been confirmed. Moana will be the 57th animated feature film in the series of Walt Disney Animated Classics.
