Drone Delivery?

Imagine you are sitting on your back porch and suddenly you hear a buzzing sound. You look up and see a small flying device that looks like a helicopter. It slowly descends and lands in your backyard. It then drops a package and flies back into the sky. Sounds like a joke, right? Well, it could become reality. Amazon has been looking into this kind of drone delivery. Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos recently unveiled his new machines on an episode of “60 Minutes”. Bezos said the machines, also called Octocopters, could be operating within the next few years. The machines use a GPS to navigate and can deliver packages in just half an hour. The machines can carry packages weighing up to 5 pounds which makes up over 80% of Amazon’s inventory. Bezos claimed that “Octocopters” are very eco-friendly because they run off electricity. Bezos also said that the drones needed some more safety testing saying, “This thing can't land on somebody's head while they're walking around their neighborhood.”
